Beneficial Area: City of York on the pre 1996 boundaries.

Aims: The Trusts only grant aids to charities local to York and mainly in areas concerning health, welfare and education. In 2004, the Trust gave £5,350 in 36 grants, ranging from £100 to £300.

General: Beneficiaries of the larger grants included St Leonard's Hospice, Age Concern, Macmillan Cancer Relief, North Yorkshire Aids Action, Martin House Hospice Appeal, Peasholme Day Centre. Smaller grants were given to organisations such as Riding for the Disabled, York Wheels, First Heworth Scouts, One Parent Families, Relate, Young Groves and Chapelfields & District Outta School Club. Many of the grants are recurrent but new applications are considered.

Applications: In writing to the correspondent. Applications should be made by 30 September and grants are awarded before Christmas.

Exclusions: No grant to individuals.
