Beneficial Area: York

Aims: The Trust gives grants for (a) the upkeep of St Michael's Church, Spurriergate; (b) upkeep and maintenance of any Church of England in York; and (c) general charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the city of York.

General : In the calendar year 2000, it had assets of approximately £2.2 million pounds and a Gross income of approximately £123,000. Grants paid were approximately £112,000 of which approximately, £24,000 was given to local Charities. Previous local Charities include for example the Salvation Army, Peaseholme Centre, ARC, Mencap, YACRO, York Combined Schools Project and York MIND and others.

Applications : In writing to the correspondent. Trustees meet four times a year.

Exclusions : Grants are not made for general fund-raising purposes or to individuals.

Note Heritage projects such as the old ARC (now DIG) have benefitted from this charity in the past.
