The Trust makes grants under four specific categories: Social Change: Enterprise and Independence, Environment, Education, and Arts & Heritage. The purpose must be charitable, and normally the Trust will only consider applications from registered charities or organisations that are properly constituted. Grants generally range from £250 to £250,000. The Trust favours projects that are innovative, developmental and designed to make a practical impact on a particular problem or need. The Foundation also runs a Loans Program. The Foundation is unlikely to support capital projects i.e. building and refurbishment projects, or projects involving sport, religion, community transport, counseling, vocational training, schools or youth clubs.
